Total Control

Total Control is an Australian post-punk band formed in Melbourne in 2008. The band consists of Daniel Stewart (vocals, guitar), Al Montfort (guitar, vocals), Mikey Young (bass guitar) and James Hannigan (drums).

The band's sound has been described as "a mix of post-punk, noise rock and krautrock". Their lyrics often deal with themes of alienation, anxiety and social inequality.

Total Control have released four studio albums: 'Henge Beat' (2011), 'Typical System' (2012), 'Laughing at the System' (2014) and 'Sewer Side' (2018). They have also released a number of singles and EPs.

The band has toured extensively throughout Australia, Europe and North America. They have played at a number of festivals, including Primavera Sound, SXSW and Meredith Music Festival.

Total Control have been praised for their energetic live performances and their ability to create a sense of urgency and intensity in their music. They have been compared to bands such as The Fall, Wire and Sonic Youth.

In 2014, Total Control were nominated for the Australian Music Prize for their album 'Laughing at the System'. They were also nominated for the Best Independent Album award at the ARIA Music Awards.
