Stress

Stress was a punk rock band formed in 1979 in Santa Monica, California. The band was a part of the Los Angeles hardcore scene and is considered to be one of the first hardcore punk bands.

Stress was formed by vocalist Ron Reyes, guitarist Doug Carrion, bassist Chuck Dukowski, and drummer Pat Smear. The band's early sound was influenced by bands such as Black Flag, Fear, and the Germs. Stress released their debut EP, "Nervous Breakdown", in 1980. The EP was a critical and commercial success, and it helped the band to gain a following in the Los Angeles punk scene.

Stress's second EP, "In Your Face", was released in 1981. The EP was even more successful than the band's debut, and it helped to cement Stress's reputation as one of the leading bands in the hardcore punk scene.

In 1982, Stress released their debut full-length album, "Don't Be Nervous". The album was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to further increase the band's popularity. Stress toured extensively in support of "Don't Be Nervous", and they played shows with bands such as Black Flag, Fear, and the Germs.

In 1983, Stress released their second full-length album, "Give 'Em Enough Rope". The album was not as successful as the band's previous albums, and it failed to chart on the Billboard 200. Stress broke up in 1984.

After the band's breakup, Reyes went on to form the band Black Flag. Carrion went on to form the band Dag Nasty. Dukowski went on to form the band SWA. Smear went on to join the band Nirvana.
