Ratsia
Ratsia was a punk band from Belgrade, Serbia, formed in 1977 and active until 1988. They are considered one of the most influential and important punk bands in the former Yugoslavia and Eastern Europe.
Ratsia was formed by singer and guitarist Srđan Gojković "Gile", bassist Željko Veljović "Cvele", and drummer Ivan Vdović "Ivica". The band's music was influenced by the Ramones, Sex Pistols, and the Clash, as well as traditional Serbian folk music. Ratsia's lyrics were often political and critical of the Yugoslav government.
The band released their debut album, "Ratsia", in 1979. The album was a commercial and critical success, and helped to establish Ratsia as one of the leading punk bands in Yugoslavia. Ratsia released two more albums, "Drugi album" (1981) and "Treći album" (1983), before splitting up in 1988.
Ratsia's music has been praised for its energy, originality, and political commentary. The band has been credited with helping to popularize punk rock in Yugoslavia and Eastern Europe, and with inspiring a new generation of musicians.
In 2007, Ratsia reunited for a series of concerts. The band has since released a live album and a DVD.
