Limp Wrist

Limp Wrist is an American punk rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 1990. The band is known for its outspoken and controversial lyrics, which often deal with topics such as sexuality, drug use, and social issues. Limp Wrist has been praised by critics for its originality and energy, but has also been criticized for its vulgarity and lack of musicality.

The band was formed by vocalist Martin Sorrondeguy, guitarist Adam Gnade, bassist Dave Klein, and drummer Paul Curran. Sorrondeguy and Gnade were both former members of the hardcore punk band Final Conflict, while Klein and Curran had played in various other San Francisco punk bands. Limp Wrist's early sound was characterized by fast, aggressive tempos, distorted guitars, and Sorrondeguy's distinctive, high-pitched vocals. The band's lyrics often dealt with topics such as gay sex, drug use, and social alienation.

Limp Wrist's debut album, "Unleashed", was released in 1992 on Alternative Tentacles Records. The album was a critical and commercial success, and helped to establish the band as one of the leading figures in the nascent queercore movement. Limp Wrist followed up with a series of successful albums throughout the 1990s, including "Cerebral Cacophony" (1993), "The Power of Homo-Centricity" (1995), and "Sex Addict" (1997).

In 2000, Limp Wrist signed to Lookout! Records and released their fifth album, "Whorehouse of Representatives". The album was a commercial disappointment, and the band was dropped from Lookout! Records shortly thereafter. Limp Wrist continued to tour and record throughout the 2000s, but they did not release another studio album until 2010's "Trenchmouth".

Limp Wrist has been a controversial band throughout its career. The band's lyrics have been criticized for being vulgar and offensive, and the band has been accused of promoting drug use and sexual promiscuity. However, Limp Wrist has also been praised for its originality and energy, and the band has been credited with helping to break down barriers between the punk and queer communities.

Limp Wrist continues to tour and record today. The band's most recent album, "Facedown in the Dirt", was released in 2018.
