Crisis

Crisis was an influential Italian hardcore punk band formed in 1977 in Rome. They are often considered pioneers of the Italian punk movement and one of the first Italian bands to embrace the DIY ethos and aesthetics of punk rock.

The band was formed by vocalist Stefano "Stiv" Vitali, guitarist Paolo "Piero" Tovagliacci, bassist Giorgio "George" Angeletti and drummer Alessandro "Ale" Porti. They quickly gained a reputation for their aggressive live shows and their political and social lyrics, which often addressed issues such as poverty, unemployment, and social injustice.

Their debut album, "1977", was released in 1978 and quickly became a classic of the Italian punk scene. The album's raw and energetic sound, combined with its politically charged lyrics, made it a defining moment in the history of Italian punk rock.

Crisis released a total of four studio albums and several singles and EPs throughout their career. They also toured extensively throughout Italy and Europe, sharing the stage with other notable punk bands such as the Sex Pistols, Sham 69, and the Dead Kennedys.

The band's lyrics often addressed social and political issues, criticizing the government, the police, and the ruling class. They also expressed their support for working-class people, the unemployed, and those marginalized by society.

Crisis disbanded in 1981, but they reunited briefly in 1984 to record a new album. They disbanded again in 1985, but have occasionally reunited for special shows and events.

Despite their relatively short career, Crisis had a major impact on the Italian punk scene and helped to pave the way for other Italian punk bands. Their music continues to be enjoyed by fans of punk rock around the world.
