Blitz

Blitz was an English punk rock band formed in New Mills, Derbyshire, England, in 1979. They were one of the first UK bands to incorporate Oi! and street punk elements into their sound, and are widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the genre.

The band was formed by vocalist Nuts, guitarist Steve Diggle, bassist Dickie Hammond, and drummer Nidge Miller. They quickly gained a following in the UK punk scene, and released their debut album, All Out Attack, in 1980. The album was a critical and commercial success, and helped to establish Blitz as one of the leading lights of the UK punk scene.

Blitz continued to release albums and tour throughout the 1980s, and became known for their aggressive sound and confrontational lyrics. They were also known for their controversial live shows, which often featured violence and destruction.

In 1984, Blitz released their most successful album, Second Empire Justice. The album reached number 20 in the UK charts, and helped to introduce the band to a wider audience. However, the band's popularity began to decline in the late 1980s, and they disbanded in 1990.

Blitz reformed in 2005, and have continued to tour and record new music. They have released four albums since their reformation, and have become a popular live act once again.

Blitz are considered to be one of the most important and influential UK punk bands of all time. Their music has inspired many other bands, and their songs have been covered by a wide range of artists, including Discharge, The Exploited, and The Casualties.
