Angry Samoans

The Angry Samoans were an American punk rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1978. The band was known for its humorous and often offensive lyrics, as well as its aggressive and energetic live performances.

The band was formed by vocalist Gregg Turner, guitarist Mike Saunders, bassist Todd Swalla, and drummer Bill Vockeroth. Turner and Saunders had previously been members of the band The Dils, while Swalla and Vockeroth had been members of the band The Zeros.

The Angry Samoans released their debut album, "Back from Samoa", in 1980. The album was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to establish the band as one of the leading punk rock bands of the early 1980s. The album featured the songs "They Saved Hitler's Cock", "Too Dumb to Die", and "You Stupid Jerk", which became some of the band's most popular songs.

The Angry Samoans released their second album, "STP Not LSD", in 1981. The album was not as successful as their debut, but it did feature the song "Big Ugly Man", which became a minor hit.

The Angry Samoans continued to release albums and tour throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The band's lineup changed frequently over the years, but Turner and Saunders remained the only constant members.

The Angry Samoans broke up in 1998, but they reunited in 2001. The band has continued to tour and record sporadically since then.

The Angry Samoans are considered to be one of the most influential punk rock bands of all time. Their music has been praised for its humor, energy, and originality. The band has also been criticized for its offensive lyrics, but its fans argue that the lyrics are simply a reflection of the band's sense of humor.

The Angry Samoans were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
